A heartfelt farewell to Reverend Carla
11 May 2026The community at RFBI Bathurst Masonic Village recently gathered to farewell and thank one of our most dedicated and deeply valued volunteers, Reverend Carla.
For years Rev Carla has been a foundational pillar of spiritual support and comfort within our village. Whether she was leading regular services for our residents’ Communion Group or spending quiet, one-on-one time visiting individuals in their rooms, her presence always brought a sense of peace and reassurance to our home.
Beyond her scheduled visits, Rev Carla’s dedication knew no boundaries. She frequently made herself available at any hour of the day or night, stepping forward whenever residents and their families needed her most. Her willingness to provide comfort, prayer and a calming presence during the final hours of a resident’s life has left a lasting impact on our families and our care team alike.
This selfless commitment to supporting people through life’s most sacred and difficult moments is the very definition of compassion.
While the village family is deeply sad to see her go, we are incredibly grateful for the years of service, kindness and care she has poured into RFBI Bathurst.
We are also pleased to share that the Anglican Diocese of Bathurst is currently preparing another member of their clergy to step into this role, ensuring residents continue to receive the spiritual care and continuity of service they value so much.
To Reverend Carla: thank you for your unwavering devotion, your middle-of-the-night visits and the profound comfort you have brought to so many hearts. You will always be a cherished part of our village history.
