Residents and staff in RFBI Armidale Masonic Village welcomed a very special guest last month – Hephner the travelling alpaca!

Hephner isn’t just any alpaca. He and his owner are well-known across the country for spreading joy and raising awareness about mental health. Together they visit aged care facilities, schools and community groups, creating memorable moments everywhere they go.

Our residents were thrilled to meet Hephner. His calm and gentle nature impressed everyone and many couldn’t believe just how well-behaved and friendly he was. From gentle pats to posing for photos, Hephner quickly became the star of the day.

We love welcoming animals into our villages as they always lift spirits, spark connection and brighten the day of everyone involved.

It was a truly unforgettable afternoon and a wonderful example of how meaningful experiences made possible through our community connections enrich life at RFBI.

We thank Hephner and his owner for making the journey to visit us in Armidale and for sharing their important message about mental health and wellbeing.
