RFBI Director

Christopher Telford is a distinguished dental surgeon born in Timaru, New Zealand. With dual degrees in Microbiology/Biochemistry and Dental Surgery from the University of Otago, his career spans over five decades across New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Australia. He gained early acclaim for his emergency dentistry work at Waikato Hospital and later pioneered prosthodontic services in the remote Chatham Islands.

Settling in Sydney in 1985, he established a long-standing private practice on Macquarie Street, while also contributing as a clinical tutor at the University of Sydney and serving as an expert witness in dental and medical legal cases. His interests in public health, infection control and implantology led to advanced studies in guided bone regeneration in Switzerland and the development of innovative clinical protocols.

Beyond dentistry, Christopher has been active in professional and community organizations, including the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Rotary, and the University & Schools Club. He is also a black belt in Aikido and a passionate contributor to musical and theatrical productions. His career reflects a commitment to clinical excellence, education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
