Services
Support at Home: changes to personal care from 1 October 2026
From 1 October 2026, eligible Support at Home participants will no longer pay a contribution for approved personal care services.
Personal care will move from the Independence category to the Clinical Supports category for contribution purposes. This may make personal care more accessible for some older people, depending on their approved Support at Home plan and available funding.
Already receiving personal care? Your services can continue, subject to your approved support plan and available funding.

Clinical care
Clinical care can include nursing care, medication support, wound care, allied health and other services based on your individual needs.
We work with you, your family and other health professionals where appropriate to help you manage your health, maintain your independence and feel confident living at home.
Independence
Support to help you stay independent, connected and confident at home, including social support and community engagement, therapeutic services, transport and respite.
Personal care is also available to eligible Support at Home participants. From 1 October 2026, approved personal care services will be treated as Clinical Care for contribution purposes.
Every day living
A little help with everyday tasks can make it easier to continue living safely and comfortably at home.
Our Everyday Living services can include support with cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, gardening and home maintenance, helping you maintain your independence and enjoy more time doing the things that matter to you.
Short term supports
Assistive Technology and Home Modifications
Make changes at home or purchase devices and equipment that improve safety and mobility.
Restorative Care
Help individuals regain or maintain their physical, mental and social health.
End of Life Care
Individuals with 3 months or less to live can receive funding for 12 weeks of end of life care.
