Combining the best of country and coastal life
Your new home at RFBI Basin View Masonic Village is on the north shore of the St George Basin, an idyllic location well known for its relaxing and welcoming lifestyle. Set in tranquil bushland within walking distance of the town, it lets you easily choose between doing a little or a lot.
The grounds comprise well kept community gardens, an orchard and many quiet areas. They are both beautiful and practical, producing a fine crop of fruit, vegetables and herbs. You can participate as much or as little as you like and make many new friends in the process.
Community activities are organised by the residents and include regular outings and activities in the community hall.
The community hall is available for you and your family to celebrate special events. There is also a 23-seater bus plus trailer to take you on outings, picnics, weekly shopping, fishing trips, plus regular visits to local clubs and exercise classes.

A timber mill was established at Basin View in 1880. Barges transported the timber down the river and out to sea via Sussex Inlet, and later by sailing ships. Basin View and the Masonic Village, occupy the site of this timber mill today.
In the early 1990s a number of Masons in the district decided to establish a retirement village and a Masonic Lodge with the help of John Hatton MP and RFBI. They approached the state forest department and secured a grant for a part of the forest, now known as Corramy Regional Park, on the Wool Road, Basin View. The large area, provided to RFBI on a long lease basis, now sites 23 independent-living retirement villas and a large residential care home.
By 1995 construction of the first stage of 12 villas began. The residential care home, community hall and 10 more villas were completed in 2005. Later that year, the residential care home and independent living villas were formally opened by the former Federal Member for Gilmore, Joanna Gash MP
