  • Residents can choose to pay for accommodation by a refundable deposit (RAD) paid as a lump sum, or
  • A daily payment (DAP), or
  • A combination of both

A daily payment accrues daily and is paid periodically (e.g. fortnightly). A combination payment includes both a partial lump sum and daily payments.

As RFBI offers a variety of accommodation options and prices we encourage you and your family to discuss your needs with a financial adviser to ensure that you are receiving the best financial outcome available to you.

Our published Accommodation Payment prices are our maximum rates and will apply for those with adequate financial means. Residents with limited assets may be eligible for support by the Department of Social Services.

This means that you will not be required to pay the published Accommodation Payment. If you are not supported, but affordability is still a factor, be assured this will not necessarily affect your eligibility for accommodation.

The Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) amounts quoted above are current as of today and may change (in line with interest rate adjustments) for entry dates after the 1st July. When there are changes to the interest rate RFBI will update the new DAP’s based on the new quarterly interest rate.

Optional additional costs (ie not including the accommodation price for the room) associated with the room

Services that require an additional fee include hairdressing, physiotherapy and podiatry, phone connection and Foxtel connection.

History

RFBI Tamworth Masonic Village residential care includes Lyall Green Lodge for those living with dementia.

Dating back to 1885, Cottage Homes arose from a concept put forward by Mrs S.C. Stewart and Mrs S. Joseph from the Ladies Benevolent Society.

In 1999 a major overhaul of the homes was undertaken, and later that year, Cottage Homes was officially opened by the Patron of NIMAC, Rt Hon Ian Sinclair.

In 2003 RFBI announced a further 15-room extension to the village, to be named after Lyall Green in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Masonic aged care in Tamworth. In late 2004, Mr Tony Windsor, MP, officially opened Lyall Green Lodge.
