New RFBI Village at West Wyalong

On 1st February 2012, the RFBI acquired Waratah Village from Bland Shire Council located at West Wyalong. This facility has 63 beds including a dementia specific unit.

West Wyalong, located in the Central West of NSW, has a population of about 3000 with an additional 1,500 in the surrounding district. The town was founded in the 1890’s following the discovery of gold. Today there is a thriving mining industry along with varied farming activities.

The RFBI has had a long association with West Wyalong, having donated $150,000 as seed funding in 1983 for the set up of Waratah Lodge. The RFBI has, through its Benevolence and Annuity Schemes, assisted at least a dozen deserving cases within the town.

The RFBI welcomes the Waratah Staff and its residents into the RFBI Family.
